On 9-14 October 2007 the first World Championship in Boat Lure Predatory Fishing was held. The place of angling combat was the Volga River near Saratov in Russia. 30 anglers from 6 countries took part in the competition, including Salmo Hungary team – Adrián Kovács and Lukácsi Béla.
The competition covered 3 days of practice and 2 days of tournament. In each boat there was one competitor and one referee, who weighed all the fish and summed up results. The maximum permitted length of the rod was 270 cm and only barbless hooks were allowed.
The anglers mainly caught 1-2 kg pike, but this was the perch that paid best. The winning team was from Russia, the runner-up – Latvia, and the Hungarians took the third prize. Congratulations! We are very proud of you!
